Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar commissioned second phase of eastern-bypass in Jigawa
In continuation of the activities marking the 2nd Anniversary of APC government in the state, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar today commissioned the second phase of eastern-bypass linking Baturiya to Abunabo in Kiri-Kasamma and Guri local governments area.
The Governor explained that
the total length of Phase I and II of the Eastern Bypass projects is sixty eight kilometres in which the Phase 1 Eastern Bypass project from Arawa - Baturiya has the length of 32 kilometres while the phase II Project from Baturiya to Abunabo has the total length of 36 Kilometres.
The Governor explained that the two phases was initially awarded at the total cost of Seven Billion, Eight Hundred and Twenty Eight Million Naira in which the present administration after having a discount of 15% which amounts to Four Hundred and Eighty One Million Naira paid the sum of Four Billion, Six Hundred and Nineteen Million Naira, whereby the gross balance for the contract sum stood at Three Billion, Two Hundred and Nine Million Naira.
Alhaji Badaru Abubakar also laid the foundation for the construction the third phase of the project linking Abunabo -Chafchafno to Guri which is 33.7 kilometres
He added that the project would go a long way in easing transportation of agricultural produce from the area to the markets
In a related development, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar today commissioned Kafin-Hausa township roads.
Speaking at the occasion, the Governor said his administration inherited projects worth over Ninety Two Billion Naira from the immediate past administration.
He explained that his administration decided to conclude all inherited projects to avoid wastage of funds already expanded on the projects.
Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner for works and Transport, Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel restated the commitment of his ministry to continue executing development projects that will touch the lives of the common man.
The governor had also earlier inspected the Thirty Six Kilometers Bulangu road projects.
