Youths under the El-Rufai Campaign Organization Group and Continuity Project 2019, Tuesday, in Kaduna stormed the State House of Assembly, protesting against the APC led government’s failure to keep up with promise of empowering them.
The aggrieved protesters who gathered in front of Lugard Hall, chanting, “No more APC in 2019,” also blocked the major road leading in and out of the Assembly, causing traffic grid lock.
His words: “His excellency has said that he would make Kaduna state great again, but those who are to asist the governor in making the state a better one were telling lies and decieving the youths.”
“Although some of the youths who joined the campaign prior to election are employed as traffic workers and some are empowered to start business, but the crews and sailors of governor El-Rufai has sideline some of us the youths,” he opined.
He stated that the effort of El-Rufai towards engaging jobless youths within the state could hardly reflect as a result of some of his officials’ bias nature when it came to job appointment and empowerment.
Shuaibu lamented that majority of them who went through the ‘thick and thin’ to vote the APC government into power were been sidelined, adding that those representing them either as councillors, chairmen or House of Representative members have neglected them after the election.
He added, “Most of the youths you see protesting today were stabbed and maltreated during election, but here they are with no job and assistance.”
“We want the executive governor of Kaduna State to know that whatever plans he has for the youths never reaches it destination, it never goes down to the youths, instead those working under his cabinet are reaping the benefit either taking it to their families or friends,” he explained.
