Few days to Eid-el-Kabir sallah celebrations, prices of rams have remained stable in Adamawa state and its environs due to the economic recession in the country.In an interview with LEADERSHIP at JimetaBye-pass cattle market , the chairman, Alhaji Garba Jimo attributed the low patronize of customers to economic recession the country is passing through Jimo said the prices of ram vary depending on the size of the animal, but, according to him, the smallest ram attracts fifteen thousand naira .“Prospective buyers usually besieged the market three to four days to Sallah”, stressing that volume of customers will increase with the payment of civil servants.Also commenting, the chairman of rams sellers in Mubi town, Alhaji Sani Adamu Usman said the market recorded low turn of customers who usually came from Eastern and Western parts of the country during festive period and make bulk purchase of rams.“The low patronage could not be unconnected with the economic recession in the country”, however, he said prices of rams remain stable compared to what wasobtained during last year’s Eid-el Kabir.Our correspondent observed that prices of fresh tomatoes and pepper have gone down while that of onion is getting out of the reach of a common man in the markets.
