The immediate past chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, yesterday suggested how Nigeria could have credible elections in 2019.
Jega who was speaking on the Hausa Service of the BBC was explaining a comment he made on Monday in Abuja during a peace workshop organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN.
According to Jega, further elections would only be successful if certain issues were put into consideration.
He said among the things to consider are to constitute the commission with people of integrity, trust and reliability that would not in any way put the country into shame. “This would go a long way in creating a successful and acceptable polls.”, Jega added.
