2 persons killed as vehicles ran into buried Boko Haram IED in Yobe


A bomb explosion believed to have been buried on a road in Yobe State has killed two persons and injured three persons when the vehicle they were travelling in unknowingly steeped on it.
Military sources said some Boko Haram ambushed travellers along the Damaturu-Biu road, on Sunday, had laid the bomb on the road. It said that upon sighting the vehicle, the insurgents opened fire on it, prompting drivers to manoeuvre their ways for escape.

“The vehicle sadly stepped on explosives buried on the road by Boko Haram while trying to flee the Boko Haram shooting. Two people were killed and three other injured,” the source who preferred annonimity said.
There was no official confirmation either from the military or police authority in the state as at press time.
Hospital sources in Damaturu, Yobe State capital said three injured persons  were brought for treatment.
