In keeping with his passionate support for the weak, Governor Kashim Shettima has extended his sallah gesture to 21 old women‎ known for selling mangoes around the College of Nursing off Damboa road.
The Governor who is currently observing this year's Hajj as Borno's Ameerul Hajj directed the Chief of Staff, Government House, Modu Alhaji Musa to personally distribute rams to each of the old women. Governor Shettima has always had admiration for the old women because of their enterprising nature.
Our correspondent reports that the Governor often stops over by their trading points to patronize them in buying Mangoes and other seasonal food crops most time he is passing by. ‎

Presenting rams to the old women, the Chief of Staff said Governor Shettima has so much admiration for the women because of their hard work and their commitment to being self dependent rather resorting to begging for arms. The chief of staff said the Governor believes so much in productivity and will continue to support persons who choose to be gainfully employed through formal and informal jobs.
The women who were very excited, thanked Governor Shettima for the gesture. They recalled that Governor Shettima has consistently treated them with respect and kindness.
