Emir of Kano appoints Nasir Inuwa Wada as new Magajin Gari


The emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi 11, has appointed the new Magajin Gari of Kano
-The appointee, Nasir Inuwa Wada is the son of a First Republic minister of defence, Inuwa Wada
-The appointment comes 53 years after Nasir’s father was similarly honored in 1963 by Sanusi’s forebearer, Muhammadu Sanusi 1.
The emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi 11, has appointed one of the sons of the First Republic minister of defence, Inuwa Wada as the new Magajin Gari of Kano.

The new appointee, Nasir Inuwa Wada, a mining entrepreneur, was decorated on Friday, February 5, 53 years after his late father was similarly honored in 1963 by Sanusi’s forebear, Muhammad Sanusi 1, the 54th emir of Kano.

The appointment did not come as a surprise to many as the emir was said to have lived his early life under the care of the late Inuwa Wada.
When the present emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi 1, was screened by the 6th Senate for the position of the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), a lawmaker asked him how his primary certificate bore ‘Sanusi Inuwa Wada’ instead of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.Sanusi had replied that he was enrolled into early childhood education by the late Inuwa Wada.
