Army releases batch of 55 wanted insurgents


The Nigerian Army yesterday released a third batch of most wanted Boko Haram insurgents, 55 in number.
The Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonishakin who unveiled the list at the Military Command and Control Centre  of Operation Lafiya Dole headquarters, Maimalari Cantonment of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, urged the general public to help in tracking down the wanted persons.

“With this launching of additional list of most wanted insurgents, it is hoped that the public will collaborate to identify the 55 wanted Boko Haram suspects wherever they are,” Gen. Olonisakin said.
In his remark earlier, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai recalled that the first list of over 100 wanted Boko Haram insurgents was released by the military late in 2015, while the second list that consisted 198 men were released early this year. He said the lists had helped the military to arrest some leaders of the insurgents.
