The Nigeria Police Force
(NPF) has paraded 40 more suspects over alleged kidnappings on the Abuja-Kaduna
high-way.

Moshood said the Police Force’s Operations Absolute Sanity smashed the gang of
suspected kidnappers on the Abuja-Kaduna highway and recovered large caches of
arms and ammunition and properties of victims.
The arrested
suspects are: Ali Bello (gang leader), Goma Shehu, Mohammed Muju’a, Danladi
Hassan, Mohammed Abubakar , Daniel Owobi, Egwu Ogiri, Bashir Haruna , Shedrach
Hosiah, Victor Yohanna , Suleiman Isah.
They
include: Abbas Aliyu, Bala Isiya, Hafiz Jibrin, Aminu Mohammed, Abdullahi
Adamu, Tukur Ado, Iliyasu Soda, Mohammed Musa, Aliyu Halilu, Ali Adamu, Ahmadu
Ya’u, Shehu Habu, Ishakwu Ibrahim and Mustafa Ibrahim
Others are:
Tanko Abdullahi, Jibrin Mohammed, Jibrin Wali, Tijjani Ahmad, Mohammadu Rabiu,
Suleiman Mohammed, Dahiru Bello, Abdulkarim Bello, Mohammed Abubakar, Usman
Abdullahi, Umar Garba, Abdulrahaman Amadu, Mu’ázu Salisu, Bala Isiyaku and
Mohammad Sani.
Exhibits
recovered include: one locally made smg, three AK 47 riffles, one double barrel
riffle, two single barrel, one riffle with telescope sight, three locally made
pistol, one revolver with 7.62m ammunition and five pump action.
Others are:
one revolver pistol, thirty life cartridges, seventy seven (77) 7.62mm
ammunition, ten 9mm ammunition, two magazine, assorted charms, five laptops
belonging to victims, five ipad belonging to victims, various types and make of
handset (phone) belonging to victims, several wrist watches (assorted)
belonging to victims and jewelries
Moshood
explained that after the arrest and parade of 32 suspected kidnappers and their
caches of Arms and ammunition on the 31st of July, 2017 at Kateri on
Abuja-Kaduna Highway , efforts intensified by the Police personnel of Operation
Absolute Sanity in the last few days resulted in the arrest of the additional
40 suspects.
The police
also recovered large caches of arms and ammunition, and other exhibits in
Rijanah area and other locations along Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
The
kidnappers’ dens, hideouts, camps and other black spots in the forest along
Abuja-Kaduna Highway were stormed and raided by the personnel of Operation
Absolute Sanity within the last few days.
He said in
the process three victims (names withheld) were rescued unhurt from the gangs
without payment of any ransom, and they have been reunited with their families.
Some of the
victims have identified most of the suspects as the people that kidnapped them.
Moshood said
all the suspects confessed to the crime and admitted to the various criminal
roles they played in the commission of the crimes.
He said they
will all be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.
