The Governor of Kano State His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR today signed two amended laws on the renaming of former North West University NWU which has been changed to Yusuf Maitama Sule University YMSU, and the updating of the law which established Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil.
With the signing of the amended laws,, all official formalities have been concluded for the renaming of North West University and the Universities Commision and the institution itself, will rectify the change of name in all its documentation including the issuance of certificate.
Also, the updating of the law that established the Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil which was founded back in 2000 will enable the insitution to be upgraded, to be at par with Yusuf Maitama Sule University which is more recent, estabished back in 2012. Some of the things that will be affected by the amendment of the law include the selection of governing board and other related matters.
