Jigawa State Govt Empowered Over 50,000 Youths and Women Within 2yrs

Jigawa state government says it has empowered over fifty thousand youths and women across the state in the past two years.

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar announced this today when he distributed empowerment materials to youths worth Millions of Naira.

The event took place at the Yakubu Gowon NYSC Orientation and Sport Camp Fanisau, Dutse.

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar said the era of white collar jobs is over, hence the need to create jobs through empowerment schemes that will be sustainable which became paramount.

He explained that the empowerment policy of his administration is demand driven, as careful studies were carried out on the nature of businesses that would thrive in every local government areas of the state.

The governor who announced that over one thousand five hundred youths will benefit from this empowerment program said the empowerment cut across the agricultural, health and transportation sectors.

In his speech, the State Commissioner for Agriculture Alhaji Kabiru Ali said the state is witnessing agricultural revolution.

He said the agric sector is the second largest sector with the highest budgetary allocation.

Also speaking, Minister of Youths and Sport Barrister Solomon Dalung, said Jigawa State is the first state to benefit from the ministry's program for youths in agriculture.

The Minister who was represented by Alhaji Maiwada Danmalam commended the governor for championing the course of youths.

On his part, special Assistant to the governor on empowerment Alhaji Abba Sheikh said the empowerment program will help to create jobs and reduce poverty.

In his speech, the Emir of Dutse Alhai Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi charged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the State.

In his speech, the National Chairman of the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) Alhaji Kassim Bataiya commended Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for the distribution of the commercial commuter buses and also urge other state governors to emulate the gesture.

The items distributed include milling machines, thrashers, harvesters, monetary loans to rice dealers and 27 commercial commuter buses to NARTO members.
