Bauchi State Government has approved over 60 million Naira for
disbursement to 16 health care facilities in Dass Local Government Area of the
state.
The money is for the fourth
quarter of the year 2017 which is in addition to the N74 million earlier
disbursed for first, second and third quarters of the year.
The money is an investment subsidy disbursed under Nigerian States Health
Investment Project (NSHIP).
The project requires that
half of the money is to be used for the purchase of equipment and conduct minor
renovations in health facilities while the remaining would be used to take care
of the staff of the 16 health facilities based on their performance.
Speaking to Journalists after
the steering committee meeting held in Dass, the State Chairman of Bauchi State
Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA), Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa said the
money would be distributed based on the performance each of the health
facilities.
He disclosed that less than
10 percent of the $17 million project was spent.
On his part, the State
Project Coordinator Dr. Adamu Muhammad assured that the project would continue
to support the health facilities with the subsidies based on their outstanding
performance.
While speaking, Dass Local
Council’s Director of Primary Health Care, Alhaji Sulaiman Abdu Kirfi called on
health facilities Managers to redouble their effort to ensure success of the
project.
Kirfi assured that his team
would intensify supportive supervision to ensure success.
