Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger state, on Friday
said that the government would reintroduce Teachers Colleges, to
produce qualitative man power for schools in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that, Bello disclosed this while presenting N108 billion 2017 budget proposal tagged “Budget of Consolidation’’ to the State House of Assembly for approval.
He said that the re-introduction of teachers colleges would complement the efforts of government in providing required manpower for excellent performance.
The governor explained that already the state government had reconstructed and provided modern learning facilities to about 143 secondary schools.
He said that the measure was part of government determination to provide conducive learning atmosphere for pupils to excel.
Bello said that arrangements have been concluded for the take off of three teachers colleges to provide smooth academic ground for personnel to manage public schools.
He also said that the state government would continue to retrained teachers to enable them acquire knowledge for positive impacts on the lives of the expected leaders of tomorrow.
The governor called for more working support from stakeholders, parents as well as teachers to develop the culture of selfless service.
“We will continue to provide required educational needs for all public schools in our resolve of providing responsible citizens who are expected to take over from where we stop,’’ he said.
