Operation Kunama II: Army Chief Lt Gen Buratai and his entourage visits Ganduje in his office 

His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR the Governor of Kano State today received a courtesy call from the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai and his entourage at the government house Kano.

General Buratai and his team are in Kano to visit Falgore Forest where the Nigerian Army has an ongoing operation tagged Operation Kunama II which is ending today and was done to address the issue of insecurity in that forest. 

In his remarks, Governor Ganduje thanked the Army Chief and his entourage for his visit and reiterated his administration's commitment to supporting the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari on the issue of security in the country. He added that since the inception of President Buhari's administration, the issue of terrorism is becoming history as the Army under the able leadership of Gen. Buratai has totally disbanded the boko haram terrorists and restored peace in the region, which he commended Buratai for this wonderful achievement. 

The Governor further added that it was on his request to President Buhari for the federal government to step in and handle the issue of insecurity in Falgore that made the President to deploy the Army in the forest which has yielded great results.

The Chief of Army Staff said that due to the success recorded in the annihilation of Boko Haram in the North East which has dispersed reminisce of the terror group to other parts of the North including Falgore and causing havoc and criminal activities in the forest which necessitated the need for establishing the operation in the forest.

General Buratai also used the occasion to thank Governor Ganduje for the tremendous support he has been rendering to the Nigerian Army, including the purchase of new vehicles and repairs of broken ones, and other support enjoyed by the Army from the state government.
