Aminu Tambuwal: Sokoto state low income earners to get 1,000 houses



Low income earners in Sokoto are to get 1000 units of one-bed room houses, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has disclosed. 
He revealed this when  the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Malam Mustapha Baba Shehure paid him a courtesy call at Government House, Sokoto.
"Our aim is to ensure that civil servants and other interested individuals who can afford these houses get them and utilize them for the purposes they were meant for, " he stated. 
He recalled that 500 housing inherited from the last administration had been completed and commissioned. 
The governor added that  another 500 housing units at Gidan Man Ada area would be completed  towards the end of this year.
 Tambuwal  said  his government was  conscious of the fact that more and more people people need houses. 
He assured of determination  to meet the needs of the people. 
The governor applauded the Federal Government for the national housing projects   it is executing  across the country. 
 In a remark, the Minister expressed appreciation to Sokoto state government for providing land to the ministry for actualizing the construction of the 80 housing units being executed by the Federal Government in Sokoto.
He said it was  the first phase and that Sokoto was the first state to achieve this level of progress of the project.
