Kebbi State Govt is committed to providing enabling environment for girl-child education, female adult education


 Kebbi State Government says it is committed to providing enabling environment for girl-child education, as well as female adult education.
​Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu affirmed this in Bui town Arewa Local Government at the graduation ceremony of 34 married women who memorized Glorious Qur’an, the launching Twenty Million Naira appeal fund and foundation laying for construction of Blocks of Class Rooms, Purchase of Bus and other learning and teaching materials.
​He said the state government would provide material and financial support to all communities which strived towards the upliftment of female education.
​He commended the proprietor of the school, people of Argungu Emirate and the community for embarking on the education programme which he said was in line with state government’s policy thrust.
​Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu announced the donation of Ten Million Naira to the School and pledged total commitment to ensuring that Teachers were employed for the school and paid by the state government.
​In his address, the former Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero advocated for community involvement in the provision of teaching and learning materials to public and private schools.
​He noted people in the northern part of the country have been left behind in the establishment of private school pointing out several private universities in the country only two were from the north.
​He pledged a donation of one million naira while his younger brother Abba Adamu Aliero pledged to construct three classes in the school.
​In a remarks, the former Governor of Jigawa State, Senator Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, emphasized the importance of education for girls for proper upbringing and women adult education. He donated 50 sets of computers to the school, with an initial donation of five sets.
​Also speaking the wife of the state governor, Dr. Zainab Atiku Bagudu expressed willingness to support the school with equipment and learning materials.
​She gave donation of five hundred thousand naira and materials to all the graduate. She was represented by Permanent Secretary, Women Affairs, Hajiya Halima Boyi Dikko.
​In his address the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera who was there with the representative of Sultan of Sokoto, Sarkin Yakin Binji, Alhaji Kabiru Usman, pledged the support of the Emirate to all Districts and schools wishing to embark on propagating Islam.
​Former Justice of the Supreme Courts, Justice Usman Mohammed called on the authorities concerned to assist in bring to an end, the menace of Almagiri system of under aged boys popularly known as Yawon-Bindi, which he said affected them respectively in terms of reformation.
​Justice Usman commended the effort of the people of Bui for enforcing Islamic knowledge to women and urged those who benefited from the training to utilize it positively for the betterment of the society.
​A renown Islamic scholar Sheikh AbdulRahman Isah Jega advised muslim to be mindful in accumulating wealth, but give priority to the setting up of schools, mosques, and providing support to less privileged in the society. He also reminded all Muslims about last day where Allah would request them to account for their deeds.
​A total of 19 million naira was released in cash and pledges with donation of one million naira each from former Governor of Kebbi and Sokoto States, Senator Muhammadu Adamu Aliero and Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
​While Aliyu Abubakar Labaran Bui manager of Nigerian Railway property also gave one million naira. While associates donated one point eight million naira.
​Other donors were Commissioners, House of Assembly Members and Members of House of Representatives from Jega, Zuru and Koko Federal Constituencies.
