Sen.
Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North) has donated N1.4 million to the Yushau
Abdullahi Nizzamiya Islamiya School in Arkilla area of Sokoto to aid its
operations.
A statement on Sunday by the
senator’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Bashir Mani, stated
that 80 graduating students of the school got N400,000 of the donation.
He added that N1 million was
donated to the school to boost its operational and logistics needs.
Mani said the senator, who is
also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education,
urged wealthy Nigerians to complement the efforts of government in funding
education at all levels.
”There should be more
investments in education and more private schools should be established.
”I am therefore commending the
proprietor of the school for establishing it and sustaining it’s funding.”
He said that Wamakko called on
other wealthy individuals to emulate the proprietor of the school, Alhaji Yushau
Abdullahi, in the bid to restore the glory of the education sector.
