The emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, this Thursday
is to mark the 43rd year since he attended the throne of the Zazzau emirate.
He is the longest serving on the throne in the
emirate’s history:
According to the emir’s Chief Protocol Officer,
Abubakar Ladan, the anniversary would be marked with prayers to thank Allah for
the life of the emir and peaceful coexistence that characterised his reign.
“Largely, the emir would use the opportunity to appreciate
Allah for His mercies. You know 43 years on a throne of an emirate like Zazzau
is not an easy accomplishment,” said Ladan.
“It is a rare blessing for a chosen servant. For this,
one has to really appreciate his lord. We would pray to Allah to continue to
bless the emir, the emirate and the citizens. You know, the emir is an advocate
of peace. Therefore, prayers would be offered for peace to continue to reign in
the emirate, Kaduna state and Nigeria as a whole.”
