Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom has
expressed shock over the abduction of school girls from Government Technical
College Dapchi, Yobe state, noting that such attack on children is an attack on
the future of the country.
Ortom who expressed his grief in a message signed by his Chief
Press Secretary, Terver Akase, he sympathized with the government and people of
Yobe over the
missing schoolgirls and prayed the remaining girls will be found
and reunited with their families soon. He described the incident as traumatic
especially for parents and relations of the girls, and urged security agencies
to ensure the others are rescued.
Ortom said the people of Benue State would continue to pray for
the families in Yobe whose children are yet to return. He stated that
insecurity in any part of the country should be the concern of every Nigerian
and called for timely and useful information made available to security
agencies to enable them live up to their expectations.
