Power: 66 day rationing hits Kaduna as TCN begins repairs


Some parts of Kaduna metropolis have begun to see a nine hour day time outage that will continue for 66 days over repair works initiated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
Kaduna Electric which services the state said in a statement Friday that the rationing was earlier from February 6 to 14 but has been extended to April 14, 2018 last from 8am to 5pm daily.

The planned outage as initiated by TCN is to enable its crew decommission the existing conductors & insulators on the line, re-conducting the lines and installation of composite insulators on 132KV.
The affected areas within the metropolis are; Kakuri, Barnawa, Nasarawa, Narayi High Cost, Narayi Village, Chelco feeder, as well as Nortex.
Others include, Sunglass, Sabon Tasha, Unguwan Pama, Kabala Costain, Kachia Road and all areas across River Kaduna bridge (Kaduna South).
The rest are Government House, Kaduna State University, Police Headquarters, Constitution Road and Catholic Social centre.

The spokesman of the firm, Abdulazeez Abdullahi in the statement said Kaduna Electric deeply regrets the inconvenience this may cause our customers.
