Two Pupils Die In Abuja After Allegedly Eating Biscuits From Classmate


Two pupils of Local Education Authority Primary School, Kubwa 2, Abuja have reportedly died after eating some biscuits shared by an unidentified classmate.
Confirming the incident to journalists in the school premises, the Chairman, Bwari Area Council, Mr Musa Dikko gave the names of the two Pupils as Nehima Yahaya (14years old in primary five) and Yahaya Garuba (14 years old in primary four).
He disclosed that the two students partook of the biscuits from an allegedly organised birthday party in the school premises by a person yet to be identified.

The deceased were said to have been buried on this afternoon by family members and sympathizers.
Meanwhile, a victim identified as Hasiya Haruna is on admission at the emergency ward of Kubwa General Hospital, along with two others.
Hasiya’s mother, Fatima, told The PUNCH  that she rushed Hasiya to the hospital when she learnt that she partook of the biscuits at school.
She explained that her daughter, a primary three pupil, informed her that she was given the snack by “a Muslim sister”.
Fatima, who spoke in Hausa, said, “There was a party in the school where my daughter was given biscuit, alongside with other pupils. We discovered that some pupils died at night”.
FCT Administration Education Secretariat, in a statement by its spokesman, Tony Ogunleye, said three pupils had died, while two others were hospitalised “in circumstances that are still under investigation by relevant authorities, including the Nigerian Police Force and the Health and Human Services Secretariat of the FCT”.
School activities have however been suspended till Monday 26th February for further investigation.
