Cattle rustling: FG donates relief materials to victims in Zamfara


The Presidential Committee on Flood, Disaster and Rehabilitation has donated food items and building materials to the victims of cattle rustling and banditry attacks in Zamfara.
Presenting the items, the Committee Chairman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, said that the materials comprised 250 bags of rice, 150 bags of maize, 150 bags of millet and 150 bags of beans.
According to him, other materials presented to the state government in Gusau on Wednesday were 1,500 blankets, 300 bundles of roofing sheets and cartons of milk and cosmetics.

Dangote, represented by Alhaji Ghali Umar, Assistant Secretary of the committee, said that the donation was informed by the reports of high rate of attacks of banditry and cattle rustling in the state.
Also, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, the Speaker, Zamfara House of Assembly, while receiving the donations on behalf of the state government, commended the Federal Government for the assistance.
He said that the committee had so far provided relief materials to no fewer than 2,500 victims in the state.
