Kwankwaso commiserates with the people of Mambila in plateau on the recent crisis


Former Kano state governor and Apc presidential aspirant Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on friday visited Taraba state for condolence and conflict resolution mission.

The senator condoled with the state on the death of their former governor Danbaba Suntai describing him as a gentleman that was imbedded with rare gift of humility and respectfullness and above all a good and honest man.

He further commiserated with the government and the people of the state on the recent crisis in Mambila plateau and other crises that occured on some parts of the state and prayed for the souls of those that were lost during the crises. The senator advised the state govt to be apt to its responsibility and be conscious at every point in time and stressed that effort should be intensified by the governor and his team to avert further occurence.


The Taraba state governor responded by equally condoling the senator on the death of an elder statesman Maitama Sule, describing him as a detribalised Nigerian that stood for the truth in his lifetime. He maintained that the country has lost an illustrious son that was vibrant, eloquent and humble with a rare gift of accuracy and posited that he was a great man and great gift to the country.

Darius Ishaku who appreciated the advise of the senator added that, there is the need to speedily fashion out laws that would usher in peaceful coexistence in the country. Lamenting that monies that would have been used to develop and provide the needed infrastructure are regularly being diverted to enhancing security.

The senator later proceeded to the palace of the paramount ruler of Mambila Dr. Shehu Baju in the company of the state's speaker house of assembly, the SSA to the governor, members house of assembly and other political leaders of the state. He also met and symphatizes with the victims before departing to Abuja.
