Total Nigeria PLC, a multinational energy company has concluded plans to build two hospitals each worth one hundred and fifty million naira in Borno State as part of the company's intervention in Post conflict Rebuilding of the Northeast region which suffered violent attacks from members of the Boko Haram insurgency. The company is also building two additional hospitals, each to be sited in Adamawa and Yobe States bringing the four, the number of hospitals to be built at a total of six hundred million naira.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Total Nigeria Limited, Mr. Nicolas Terraz revealed this when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Managing Director was accompanied by the company's Deputy Managing Director and other top executives of the company.

According to Mr. Terraz, the decision to build the hospital is part of the company's support to Governor Shettima and the people of Borno State who he said have in recent times faced tremendous securities and humanitarian challenges due to the Boko Haram insurgency in the region.
Speaking on how the company intend to help alleviate the challenges faced by the region, Mr. Terraz said,
"I am happy to inform you that after a thorough re-appraisal of the situation on ground, we have decided to support the North-Eaat further by deploying 4 units of maternal referral centers, which will serve as specialist hospitals designed to cater for women and children in the region. Two of the hospitals will be in Borno State" the Managing Director said.
He noted that the company was satisfied with Governor Shettima's determination towards Rebuilding Borno State and hence the company's contribution.

In his remarks, Governor Kashim Shettima paid glowing tribute to Total Nigeria PLC describing it as the first private and multinational oil company to offer support to Borno State. The Governor said his administration will provide whatever support required to actualize the project.
The Governor has since returned to Maiduguri on Tuesday evening immediately after hosting the delegation from Total Nigeria PLC.
