The Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura has sworn in eleven chairmen to pilot the affairs of their various Local Government Areas for theone year.
The swearing in ceremony which took place at the conference hall of the Government House in Lafia, the State capital, comes after the chairmen were screened and confirmed by the state lawmakers alongside 114 members of the interim management committee. During the swearing in, Governor Al-Makura charged them to imbibe the fear of God in discharging their responsibilities. He, however, pledged that he would synergize with other arms of government to improve the welfare of his people.
Recently in a sitting, 18 law makers amended the Local Government Law which gave room for the appointment of chairmen and members of the Interim Management Committee formerly known as the Transition Management Committee.
