Sokoto to rehabilitate two General Hospitals with N361m – Commissioner

The Sokoto State Government will rehabilitate the General Hospitals in Dogon Daji and Yabo in Tambuwal and Yabo LGAs at the cost of over N369 million.
The Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Abdulkadur Jaleni, made the disclosure on Tuesday in Sokoto, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting of the State Executive Council.
Jaleni said the project would involve rehabilitation of all structures in the two hospitals, adding that the job is expected to be completed within six months.
He said: “The rehabilitation of the two hospitals is in line with the commitment of the government to provide qualitative healthcare services to the people of the state.”

The Commissioner of Land and Housing, Alhaji Bello Gwiwa, said the council approved the establishment of the State Female Education and Secondary Schools’ Management Boards.
Gwiwa expressed confidence that the establishment of the boards would enhance education of the girl-child in the state.
The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Balarabe Kakale, said the meeting also approved the rehabilitation of Government Girls’ Arabic Secondary School, Sabon-Birni-Sokoto at the cost of over N134 million.
Kakale said the council approved updating of the handbook used for the conduct of the meeting of the state executive council.
He said the handbook had not been reviewed since it was adopted over 20 years ago.
“The review is aimed at updating the handbook to be in tune with current global trends in running the affairs of an executive council,” Kakale said.
