Gombe PDP loses another chieftain to APC

One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe state, Alhaji Farouk Bamusa, and thousands of his loyalists, have defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Bamusa, a founding member of the party in the state who contested the PDP Governorship Primaries in 2011 while declaring for the APC in his ward in Kwami town last weekend said he took the decision following the clarion call on him by his people to come and give them a purposeful leadership.
He said as a leader in the community there was no justification for him remaining in PDP while majority of the people are loyalists of the APC, the reason why they appealed to him to join the APC.

He said Gombe State which is being ruled by the PDP has been left far behind in the current trend of tremendous change going on in the country under the APC leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He acknowledged the crises in the Gombe State branch of the APC which he described as a leadership tussle but promised that his joining the APC is among many others, to bring a kind of consensus leadership for the party.
The APC Youth Leader in the State, Alhaji Garba Inuwa Akoma-Gona, described the new entrant into the party as a welcome development that would further go a long way in strengthening and bringing cohesion into the party.
According to him, the coming of Bamusa into the APC will give the party viable chances of wresting power from the PDP led government in the state during the 2019 general election.
