Friends and political associates of the
immediate past governor of Kano state, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso,
have raised over N260 million as donations for the newly launched
Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation.
The highest donation of N55 million came from the chief launcher, Arc. Aminu Abubakar Dabo.
Speaking at the fund raising dinner held over the weekend, Dabo said the foundation was to serve as a platform to assist the needy and less privileged across the country.
Dabo, who was a Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning in the first tenure of Kwankwaso as Governor of Kano state, said he personally donated N30 million, while his friends donated N25 million.
In his remark, chairman of the Foundation’s fund-raising committee, Hon. Nuhu Danburam said the foundation would continue to support Nigerians, and that through it, Senator Kwankwaso had donated N10 million to the victims of Ile-Ife crisis, among other charity donations.
