The
Kano State government has concluded plans to employ about 250 health
workers who would be posted to health facilities across the state.
The
state Commissioner for Health, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso who stated this
in an exclusive interview with Kano Chronicle said the employment was to
further improve the quality of work at the state’s health facilities.
“The
employment will include doctors and other health professionals who will
be deployed to our various health facilities across the state,’’ he
said.
Getso
also noted that in less than one year and despite the economic
difficulties, the government was able to employ more than 400 workers
such as doctors, nurses, midwives and other health personals, adding
that only the health sector was not affected by the government’s
employment embargo.
He
further explained that the state government had also sponsored the
training of over 60 doctors who have specialized in different areas of
specialization.
The
commissioner reaffirmed the Ganduje administration’s resolve to move
the health sector forward by ensuring that Kano people are able to
access quality health care delivery.
