Kano to employ 250 health workers

The Kano State government has concluded plans to employ about 250 health workers who would be posted to health facilities across the state.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso who stated this in an exclusive interview with Kano Chronicle said the employment was to further improve the quality of work at the state’s health facilities.
“The employment will include doctors and other health professionals who will be deployed to our various health facilities across the state,’’ he said.
Getso also noted that in less than one year and despite the economic difficulties, the government was able to employ more than 400 workers such as doctors, nurses, midwives and other health personals, adding that only the health sector was not affected by the government’s employment embargo.
He further explained that the state government had also sponsored the training of over 60 doctors who have specialized in different areas of specialization.
The commissioner reaffirmed the Ganduje administration’s resolve to move the health sector forward by ensuring that Kano people are able to access quality health care delivery.
