The Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, will commission various projects he executed in various communities across Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa local governments that made up his constituency in Bauchi state.
According to one of his
political aides in the constituency, Yusuf Joshu'a, the projects to be
commissioned on Saturday include: water projects, clinics, roads and
others.
One of Dogara's political
associates and a member of organising committee disclosed that the
speaker will be coming home to flag off three important roads in his
constituency.
"Besides, he is to commission
some of the roads and other projects he has executed within Bogoro, Dass
and Tafawa Balewa local government areas that make up his
constituency," he said.
A former Bauchi state House of
Assembly member who is also on the "Works and Reception Committee"
informed that the preparations were being done quietly in the interest
of peace and they have not involve the state government since it is not
in good terms with the speaker.
Dogara had in a recent
interview revealed that the state government had denied him the use of
its Specialist Hospital facilities when he brought a team of over 60
medical experts to offer free medical services to Bauchi people in 2016.
It could be recalled that the
state governor, Mohammed Abubakar, had through his Senior Special
Assistant on Media and Communication, Comrade Sabo Mohammed accused
Dogara of abandoning his constituency as he hardly visit the state, an
allegation which Dogara denied.
There has been an intense
political brickmanship between Governor Mohammed Abubakar, the three
Senators from the state and about 11 members of the National Assembly
representing Bauchi state for a long time.
