Atiku Abubakar's son remanded for contempt of court order over custody battle with his Ex-wife

A Magistrate Court sitting in the Tinubu area of Lagos on Wednesday remanded Aminu Abubakar, the son of a former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku in the transit cell for disobeying a court order.
Magistrate Kikelomo Ayeye ordered the remand for an alleged disobedience of a court order directing him to produce his son, seven-year-old Amir Atiku in court today (Wednesday).
Following the proceedings in a case brought by Aminu Atiku’s estranged wife, Ms. Bolori, the court had made the order for the emergency evacuation and protection of the child pending the hearing of the case today.

At the case hearing,  Aminu’s lawyer informed the magistrate that the parties were making plans to settle the matter out of court. But the counsel to his estranged wife, Ethel Okoh, denied knowledge of an out-of-court settlement.
Magistrate Ayeye found Aminu Atiku guilty for contempt of the court order made on October 11 and ordered that he should be remanded at the transit cell within the court premises pending when he could produce the boy in court.
The estranged couple who got married in Borno State in 2007, enjoyed a five-year marriage before their union was dissolved by a Sharia Court in Maiduguri in 2011.
Following their separation and battle over their children, on 11th of October 2017, Miss Bolori secured a court injunction to take custody of their children upon reports that her kids who have been with their father, were lacking motherly care.
The court document also revealed that their 8-year-old daughter who is now with Miss Bolori sent numerous text messages to her that she wasn't happy at her father's home and wanted to be with her.
