Kano police to get criminal data base centre
Kano state police command has commenced building its advanced police control room, cell phone tracking system and virtual private network centre units in its attempt to address criminal activities in the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, Rabi’u Yusuf disclosed this during a visit to the construction site of the centre at Bompai Police headquarters, Kano.
He said the project would provide a virtual private network and an advance VHF/UHF ring communication network as well as provision of comprehensive criminal data base in the state.
“When completed, this project will assist the police to establish an effective networking system that will help in curbing criminal activities in the state. I want to urge the contractor to ensure that the project is completed in the stipulated time,” the commissioner said.
The project engineer, Malam Aminu Uba Miko revealed that the data system would provide opportunities for effective criminal investigation and monitoring system that would ease, deterred and allow proper investigations.
