Kebbi State Government Receives Delivery of 2nd Truck of Medical Equipment and Drugs Donated By US Group Project Cure



Drugs and equipment worth millions of dollars have been delivered to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital Birnin Kebbi by Project Cure from the United States of America in collaboration with Kebbi State Government.
​Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu witnessed the off loading of the container bearing the medical items at the hospital. The Governor commended Project Cure for ensuring the items were delivered to the state as promised, bringing the number of containers delivered to two including that of Argungu General Hospital that was received last week. Delivery to Yauri and Zuru is on transit.
​Governor Bagudu said the state government would commence the rehabilitation, upgrading and modernization of facilities and equipment with the possible transfer of some units to the new specialist hospital in Kalgo after consultations with medical directors.

​He charged Doctors and Medical personnel in the Hospital to rededicate themselves to service of humanity.
​Acknowledging, the receipt of the drugs, assorted Medical equipment and other critical machinery of about 600 items the Chief Medical Director, Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ja’afar Muhammad Augie said the hospital was delighted to receive the items.
​Dr. Ja’afar Augie said the hospital has been reinforced to carry out various surgical operations and treatment by using state of art technology. He also announced the commencement of Houseman ship training of qualified young men and women in various aspects of Medicine and Pharmacy in the Hospital which would curtail the expenditure of millions of dollars in training home Doctors abroad.
