Kebbi State Government to offer financial support to criminals who repent to engage in productive ventures



Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu gave this assurance while inspecting arms retrieved from repentant and captured criminals at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
​He said the government would assist them to engage in Agriculture and trade to keep them permanently away from crime.
​Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu commended security agencies for their vigilante, dedication and gallantry to keep Kebbi State secured and peaceful.

​The Governor was also full of praise for his Special Adviser on Security retired Major-General Muhammad Isah Dan-Hanne, for his personal effort to retrieving the arms and for accepting to serve the state.
​General Dan-Hanne who displayed the captured weapons to the Governor briefed him that, the arms were received mostly from arms robbers who repented and were sworn-in on the glorious Qur’an, never to return to life of crime.
​He told the Governor that armed robbery has reduced significantly in Danko-Wasagu, Shanga, Jega and Ngaski Local Government areas, as well as on the Koko-Yauri road.
​The arms on displayed include, two AK47 rifles, sixty eight other guns and twenty-five pistols.
Members of the State Executive Councils, Special Advisers, Chief of Staff and the Commanding Officer (Rear) 1 Battalion Dukku Barracks, Capt. Aliyu Adamu and other security operatives were present.
