Tambuwal Meets Shagari As Sokoto Builds Teachers’ Villages

Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal has said that the state government will build teachers’ villages in various districts across the state.

He also stated that monetary and other incentives will be introduced to all teachers posted to rural areas in order to ginger them to give their best for the development of education in the state.

Tambuwal stated this during a meeting with former President Shehu Shagari in Sokoto yesterday.

According to Tambuwal government is taking the issue of teacher training serious because they are an important component in the success of his administration’s education policy.

He said various training programmes have been introduced after which the teachers will be evaluated to ascertain their capability to teach.

He said ,“Any teacher that fails to meet our requirement will be re-posted to other parts of the public service where his competence will be more needed. Let me make it clear that we will not sack any teacher from government service.

“But where he fails to meet the expectation in our schools, we will have other areas where his service will be needed and we will send the person there accordingly.”
