We Won’t Be Derailed From Ensuring Change – Niger Govt

The Niger State government has said that it will not be derailed from ensuring that the people of the state enjoy the change they voted for, adding that the people should be committed to the sustenance of peace in the state.

A statement signed by the commissioner of information, culture and tourism, Mr Jonathan Vatsa, said the government was ever committed to the security of lives and properties
.

He declared, “It is within the framework of the change agenda that the needed peaceful environment should be provided for development to thrive and we emphasise here that nothing will derail the present administration from ensuring that the people enjoy the outcome of the change they massively voted for”.

“We must expose the mischief makers and those who will want to deny us the peace we all cherish by giving the security agencies the appropriate information; we should do that in good faith, not by raising unnecessary alarms”.

Vatsa further urged the people of the state to strengthen their vigilance in this yuletide and provide the security agencies with information on any suspicious act in order to have a hitch-free celebration in the state.

Gov Bello calls for Religious harmony

The Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, has sought the cooperation and support of religious leaders in the state in ensuring peaceful coexistence of the people.

He stated while hosting religious leaders in Minna yesterday, that securing the lives of the people and their properties was the primary responsibility of the government, but noted that achieving such would not be possible without the support and cooperation of the religious leaders.

Governor Bello called for peace, tolerance and harmony among religious leaders and followers in the state, emphasising the need for all, irrespective of their faiths, to tolerate one another and continue to live together in peace.
