Nigeria Targets 20,000 megawatts (MW) transmission capacity within the next three years-- TCN Boss


Nigeria Targets 20,000 MW by 2020
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says Nigeria’s power sector is targeting to attain 20,000 megawatts (MW) transmission capacity within the next three years.
This was disclosed by interim Managing Director of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Mr. Usman Gur Mohammed and other top managements of the Company when he received the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar today at the TCN Headquarters in Abuja.

According to the Interim Managing Director, the TCN has also embarked on a nationwide installation of transmission transformers with three installed in Lagos last month, two scheduled for the north and another three in the Port Harcourt region shortly.
Earlier in his speech, Governor Muhammad Badaru said he was in the TCN Headquarters to show his appreciation and forward a request to the management team for the speedy completion of the ongoing Gagarawa Solar Power Substation project.
