Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abdullahi
Abubakar has reiterated the state government’s commitment to the
development of agriculture to fight poverty, hunger and unemployment.
He stated this in Bauchi on Tuesday
while speaking at the second town hall meeting with stakeholders of the
federal government’s Anchor Borrowers Scheme.
He added that the state’s continued
support for the scheme is to ensure its success in the state, adding
that distribution of farm inputs to validated farmers began in Bauchi
State even before the disbursement of the loan.
“The present administration in the state does not only support the Anchor Borrowers Programme but fully embraced it. It is in this regard that the state government decided to shoulder the interest rate on behalf of the farmers to enable them access the entire loan package freely,” he said.
