Bauchi state government under the leadership of Gov. M. A. Abubakar has approved the payment of scholarship to beneficiaries of tertiary institutions. The administration have also approved the verification of 2015/2016 applicants to further benefit from the state’s scholarship scheme.
Making this known to the public, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs Comr. Najmudeen Garba, said that 70% of beneficiaries have received their stipends either through e-payment or open cheques, adding that the remaining will be paid as soon as verification is concluded. He further stated that funds for the payment of 2015/2016 beneficiaries have been released to the Bauchi State Scholarship Board and payment of verified beneficiaries will commence in earnest.
Gov. M.A Abubakar have continued to support the training of skilled manpower in the state, and the sponsorship of scholarship schemes attest to the desire to encourage hard work and professionalism, as well as promote a culture of merit among youths in the state.

Education has remained a priority in this present administration, as Gov. Abubakar has continued to roll back the rot in the sector; allocating the highest portion of the budget (26%) to the sector.  The payment of WAEC and other exam fees, upgrading of both Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic and College of Education Kangere, and the sponsorship of Bauchi indigenes abroad for various programmes are some of the few ways commitment to education is shown by this administration.
