Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu made the commendation at the palace of the Emirs of Gwandu, Argungu as well as District Heads of Aliero, Gwandu, Jega and Maiyama as part of his campaign to local government areas for the forth coming local government election scheduled for this Saturday.
The Governor commended them for their role in bringing to an end, the Fulani/farmers clashes through dialogue, assuring that his administration would continue to accord traditional rulers the respect they deserved.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu directed that, henceforth every local government in Kebbi State must submit its minutes of its monthly meeting to his office failing which the government would suspend council salary payment to staff of the affected local government.
The Governor said his administration would continue to respect traditional rulers and strive to satisfy the yearnings of traditional institutions.
On the forth coming local government election, the Governor charged them to preach peace, unity and understanding before, during and after the election.
Speaking, the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, and the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera expressed support and loyalty to the present administration.

At the palace of Lammen Augie, Alhaji Adamu Augie, District Head of Gwandu, Alhaji Bello Mai-Wurno, Aliero Alhaji Salisu Mohammed, Jega, Alhaji Arzika Bawa Sarkin Kabi Jega, Maiyama, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Maiyama the traditional rulers thanked the state government for executing various development projects in their dormains.
The District Heads pledged their support to policies and programmes of the state government and successful conduct of local government election this Saturday.
