The first Kebbi Beach Soccer competition has been concluded in Zauro, this Friday with Kogi confluence soccer emerging champions.
The team defeated Kaduna Kada Beach Soccer by five goals to four.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu presented trophy to the winners and decorated the runners up with silver medals.
The governor affirmed the commitment of his administration to the
development of sports especially among secondary schools to attain
excellence and competitive spirit.
He said the State Government would construct modern stadium in major towns in the state.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu commended the Ministry of Youths and Sport for organizing the first Kebbi Beach Soccer tournament successfully. He also thanked the organizer of Kebbi Beach Soccer for hosting the event.
The first Kebbi Beach Soccer was played near the river side at Zauro which has in attendance, The Deputy Speaker Muhammadu Buhari Aliero, Commissioners, Advisers, Dikkon Zauro Engineer Murtala Zauro, APC Chairman Barrister Attahiru Maccido, House Leader Muhammad Bello Yakubu Rilisco, former National Football Goal Keeper, Peter Rufai and former Super Eagles player Tijjani Babangida among other dignitaries.
The beach soccer was co-sponsored by the Medicaid Cancer Foundation of wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Zainab Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
