The Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar was among the dignitaries and huge crowds that turned out for the funeral prayer of Elder Statesman Alhaji (Dr.) Yusuf Maitama Sule, Danmasanin Kano.
Maitama Sule who is a former Nigeria’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations, was buried in Kano.
The funeral prayer was also attended by President of the Senate Bukola Saraki, governors, senators, ministers, among others, was held at the Emir’s Palace, Kano.
The late National Icon was buried at Wali Maigeza Cemetery, Kofar Mazugal, Kano at around 7:30pm.
Alhaji Maitama Sule died on Monday at As-Salam Hospital in Cairo, Egypt.
