As fuel
scarcity continues to take a heavy toll on Kaduna, black marketers in the state
have hiked the price of petrol to between N300 and N350 per litre.
Motorists are left with no
option other than to patronise the black marketers as many filling stations in
the state are closed.
Meanwhile, the scarcity of
fuel has begun to affect transportation in the state as travellers are said to
now be paying between N1, 700 and N2000 to Abuja, against the initial amount of
N1, 500 for the same trip.
In Abuja,
the federal capital, long queues of vehicles are still being seen in most
filling stations.
The WHISTLER reports that though commercial drivers have not
hiked the price of transport fare on major routes within the city, commuters
can be seen stranded at many bus stops because drivers are stuck in fuel
stations.
