I left over N14bn in Katsina treasury — Shema

The immediate past governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema said his administration left over N14 billion in the coffers of both the state and local government as at May 29, 2015.
In a statement by his media aide, Oluwabusola Olawale, the former governor denied claim by the present administration in the state that it inherited N4 billion from Shema.

The statement said “If Governor Aminu Bello Masari believes otherwise we challenge him to publish the certified bank account statements of State Government accounts, Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as the 34 local governments as at May 29, 2015. And if Governor Masari fails to do that no right thinking person should ever take him or his words serious.”
Shema also debunked claim that his administration acquired loans for the state saying “we challenge Masari administration to publish any letter of request or application for loan made by Ibrahim Shehu Shema administration either local or foreign request.”
“There is no iota of truth in the claims by Governor Masari that he completed projects inherited from his predecessor and if he is sure of his claims we challenge him to commission such projects tomorrow,” the statement said.
