The absence of Justice Ambrose Mammadi of Yola High Court, on
Wednesday stalled the hearing of a case filed against Adamawa House of
Assembly Speaker, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa.
The member representing Mubi South Constituency in the assembly, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abubakar, had dragged the speaker and the assembly to court.
Abubakar is challenging the dissolution of the House Committee on Finance, which he is chairman and his suspension from the house for three months.
Mammadi who was due to hear the case on Wednesday, was yet to return from Abuja, where he went to attend the Judges Conference, a development that led to the adjournment of the case till Nov. 19, 2015. Mammadi had last week, restrained the speaker and the assembly from suspending the plaintiff and dissolving the committee, pending the determination of the motion on notice.
