The first Republic politician died peacefully at his Durumin Iya quarters residence of Kano municipal after a protracted illness.
Born in 1917 to a respected family in Kano, his grandfather was Chief Alkali during the early twentieth century and his father worked as a surveyor for the Kano Native Authority before his death in 1924. Inuwa Wada attended Shuhuci Elementary School and in 1938, he graduated from the Kano Middle School.
He then went on to train as a teacher at the Katsina Higher College from 1933-1938 and later became a teacher in Kano where he taught History, English and Geography and also edited a paper, ‘Yadda Yake Yau’.
After putting nine years in teaching, he left the profession for the offices of the Kano Native Authority and worked there as a clerk, Chief Scribe and Information Officer.
The first Republic power broker disappeared from public glare over the past two decades was buried according to Islamic rites at Kiki or ‘Mayanka’ burial ground.
The emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II at the city central mosque at 4:00 PM was escorted by huge crowd to his final abode.
Inuwa Wada a stable factor of Tafawa Balewa administration until his demise held the traditional of Magaji Gari.
Hundreds of people, including the Deputy Governor of Kano state Prof Hafizu Abubakar, attended the funeral prayer for the late Alhaji Inuwa Wada.
The prayer, which was led by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, was conducted at the Emir’s Palace at around 4:30pm on Wednesday.
Other prominent personality that attended the prayer were the former Inspector General of police, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie and Galadima of a former President of the Court of Appeal Justice Mamman Nasir.
Wada died in the early hours of Wednesday after a protracted illness at the age 98.
