Prof Sani Mashi: University of Abuja Opens Study Centre in Katsina

The University of Abuja has concluded arrangements to open a Distance Learning Study Centre in Katsina, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Varsity, Prof. Sani Mashi has said.

Prof. Mashi, who disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Governor Aminu Bello Masari, said the Centre would serve the whole of North-West, adding that it was informed by the need to widen access to education.



The Katsina born academic, however, sought collaboration with the state government so as to ensure successful commencement and subsequent operations of the centre.

He urged the Katsina state government to support the Varsity with office and facilities for the smooth take-off.

Responding, Governor Masari lauded the initiative to open the Centre in the state insisting that the state needed well trained and committed teachers to turn the fortune of education for the better.

While pledging total support for the Centre, Masari assured that the state government would encourage Teachers in the state to enrol when the Centre becomes functional.
