Nigeria Railway Corporation Begins 2 weeks Abuja-Kaduna daily free train service


Ahead the commercial operations and official commissioning of the Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge (fast speed) train service, the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has begun a two-week daily free train service. 
The Acting Managing Director/CEO of the corporation, Engr. Fidel Okhiria, led staff and passengers aboard the train from the  Idu, Abuja base station to Rigasa, Kaduna State yesterday.
Some of the passengers who spoke to our correspondent expressed excitement about the service. 

Haruna Aminu who boarded at Idu, said he liked the comfort and would always use train when possible. 
Felicity Isiwele, a 2009 graduate of English from the Ambrose Ali University who joined the train from Kubwa, Abuja to Kaduna, said it was exciting to be among the first Nigerians to use the train.  
“It’s quite an exciting experience and I really love this. It’s been fun and it’s as though I’m in a different country because we used to see old coaches but this is refreshing,” she said.  
The NRC MD Mr. Okhiria who stopped at every station to inspect the train expressed satisfaction with the development. 
“Nigerians are now making use of the train services for free and this will continue for two
