IGR Boost: Kano state government flagged-off Daily Collection of Presumptive Tax from motorists


The Governor of Kano State His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR today flagged off the Daily Collection of Presumptive Tax from motorists in conjunction with all transport unions in Kano State.
The scheme which is being introduced by the Kano State Internal Revenue Service Board (KIRS) in collaboration with all transport unions in the state in accordance with the provisions of the constitution in order to boost the states IGR especially road tax which is currently not producing the desired result.
The scheme is expected to greatly enhance revenue generation in Kano and also the transport associations ate expected to sell the tickets daily to their members and at the end of each month the associations are expected to take 10% of the revenue generated.
A committee will also be set up comprising of all stakeholders in the transportation industry at all local gov;ts of the state in parks and other places in order to enforce compliance of the new policy.
The event was well attended with the deputy speaker representing the speaker, the Head of Service, Emir of Kano, commissioners and other top government officials in the state.
