Kebbi State Governor Hosts Nigeria Medical Association Kebbi State Branch To Iftaar Dinner




 Kebbi State Government has placed priority on all specialist courses within and outside the country with emphasis on health related matters.
​Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu affirmed this while hosting members of Nigeria Medical Association Kebbi State branch to a Ramadan Breakfast at the Government House Birnin Kebbi this Tuesday.
​Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed satisfaction about the performance of those who work in partnership with the medical team from United States for providing free medical services at Kalgo Specialist Hospital.
He announced that a different set of Canadian Medical Doctors were expected in the state before the end of the year.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu commended medical and health personnel for performing diligently for the benefit of humanity.
​On the issue of training, employment of doctors, CONMESS that is consolidated salary scale for doctors and other health related matters or especially payment of medical bills for pregnant woman and children in the state.
​The Governor said his administration would look into all requests accordingly. He added that the state government is aware of the present medical expenses incurred by patients.
​In his remark, Dr. Aminu Haliru Bunza the Director Medical Services, in the State Ministry of Health described Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu as doctors friendly. He acknowledged.
that monthly cash allocation was being paid as at when due, which has helped hospitals to perform optimally.
​He also requested for the payment of medical students studying in various part of the world from Kebbi State.
​He commended the state government for bringing foreign medical personnel to conduct an outreach free as well as the rehabilitation of hospitals and provision of medical equipment.
​Also the chairman of Nigerian Medical Association, Dr. Haruna Musa expressed gratitude to the Governor for hosting them to Ramadan Breakfast at the Government House.
​He commended Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for improving health care delivery in the state.
​Dr. Haruna requested the Governor to uphold training and retraining of medical personnel, employment of medical doctors and implementation of CONMESS which is the consolidated salary scale as being practiced in most of the northern states to encourage Doctors work in the state.
​In her address Dr. Nana Aisha urged the state government to extend the subsidize health care programmes for women and children under five years at Sir Yahaya Special Hospital to the Federal Medical Centre FMC and other hospitals throughout the state to assist them in settling cost of operation and drugs.
​Dr. Nana Aisha further appealed to the governor to accord the female medical doctors priority in consultancy training and renumeration. She also wants the administration to subsidize medical expenses for indigent of the state.
​All the speakers commended the wife of the Governor Dr. Zainab Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for her humanitarian assistance, support, encouragement and care in offering free medical outreach and services.
